The target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Here is what that means in practice, and what to do if something does not work for you.

Target standard

This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA. That is a target rather than a certification: no automated tool can prove conformance, and we would rather state the goal and fix reports than claim a badge.

What has been built for it

Specific measures in place across the site:

  • Semantic headings, landmarks and lists, so the page can be navigated by structure rather than by sight.
  • A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element.
  • Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, and full keyboard operation of the menu and every expandable row.
  • Collapsed panels marked inert, so their contents stay out of the tab order and out of the accessibility tree.
  • Text and interface colours checked against AA contrast ratios on each background they appear on.
  • All motion suppressed when the operating system requests reduced motion, including smooth scrolling.
  • Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel viewport.

Known limitations

The site uses a custom cursor and scroll smoothing on pointer-based devices. Both are disabled under a reduced-motion preference and on touch, but if either causes difficulty, tell us and we will address it.

Live client sites linked from the portfolio are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email dmitriy@ide.digital with the page and what happened. Reports are treated as defects, not feature requests, and get a reply within 24 hours on business days.
